McCrea and Barrow Named Athletes of the Week

Senior Javon McCrea averaged 25.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists as he led the Bulls to a pair of victories this past week.  McCrea broke out on Saturday at Kent State as he led the Bulls to their first ever win at the M.A.C. Center, becoming UB’s all-time leading scorer with a 31-point, 11-rebound performance against the Golden Flashes.  McCrea did most of his damage at the free throw line, where he was 13-of-16.  On Wednesday night, McCrea nearly became the first ever UB player to record a triple-double as he had 20 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in the victory over the Akron Zips.  McCrea added three blocks against the Zips.  He shot 50% from the floor during the week and went 83.3% from the free throw line.  For the season, McCrea is averaging 18.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
Junior transfer Hayley Barrow led the Bulls offensively this past weekend as she batted .462 and she drove in five runs.  She went 2-for-3 with a double in the win over UT-Martin and then she hit her first home run of the season on Saturday night against Bowling Green.  Barrow drove in a pair of first inning runs on Sunday as she helped lead the Bulls to a victory over Northern Colorado.  Overall, she finished with a .769 slugging percentage and scored three runs.
