Sophomore Megan Wernette led the UB offense with a perfect weekend to open up MAC play.  Wernette did not have a single error on 26 total attacks during the two matches.  Wernette had a nine kills and no errors on 10 total attacks as she hit a career-high .900 against the Ohio Bobcats.  A day earlier, Wernette had eight kills and no errors on 16 swings against Kent State.  Defensively, she also led the Bulls with eight blocks on the weekend, including five against Kent State.  Wernette is second on the team in kills with 88 and leads Buffalo with 48 blocks.

             

Quarterback Tyree Jackson had the best game of his young career. In only his second career start, the redshirt-freshman signal caller accounted for all three of the Bulls touchdowns in their comeback victory. Jackson ran for two touchdowns and passed for another. He finished 20-of-31 for 178 yards and a touchdown and added 34 yards rushing and two scores on the ground. With the Bulls trailing, 10-0, in the third quarter, Jackson’s one-yard run to cut the lead to 10-6. Jackson connected with Kamathi Holsey on a 5-yard touchdown to bring the Bulls within a touchdown. Jackson orchestrated the game-tying 62-yard drive and tied the game on a one-yard touchdown drive. He found Mason Schreck to convert a 4th and 9 and keep the drive alive. Jackson was 9-of-13 for 109 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
