Rachel Sanks

Junior Rachel Sanks led the Bulls to a pair of victories this past weekend, putting forth the best night of her career in the three-set win over Ohio, UB’s first ever sweep of the Bobcats.  Sanks had 16 kills and just two errors on the night as she hit .519 for the evening.  Sanks did not commit a hitting error until the third set as she had 14 kills and no errors following the first two sets.  She also added three digs and three blocks in the win.  On Friday night, Sanks was also instrumental in the 3-0 win over Kent State as she chipped in seven kills and two digs.  For the weekend, she hit .341.

Tyree Jackson accounted for six touchdowns in Buffalo’s 51-42 win over Miami (OH). The junior quarterback threw for three touchdowns and ran for a career-best three more. Jackson went 20-of-34 for a season-high 358 yards and three touchdowns. He had touchdown passes of 75, 20 and 10 yards. With his three touchdown runs, he became the first quarterback in the Bulls’ FBS era (since 1999) to score three rushing touchdowns in a game. He became just the second quarterback  in the country this season to throw for three and rush for three touchdowns in the same game.
