CLEVELAND, OH - For the second straight week a Buffalo hitter earned the Mid American Conference East Division's Player of the Week award. Eric Bryce, fresh off a week in which he hit five home runs in four appearances, won his first career conference award.
Bryce was a force to be reckoned with at the plate for Buffalo's three game series at North Carolina Central, hitting five home runs among his seven total hits in just 12 at-bats. He drove in ten runs and scored seven times himself. On Friday, he hit two home runs in a 19-7 win and two more in a 9-2 comeback win on Sunday. Also, he drew five walks in the three weekend games. For the season, the senior from Regina, Saskatchewan is batting .400 with a .516 on-base percentage and a 1.200 slugging percentage.
In yesterday's sweep of Big Four rival, Bryce added another home run with a two-run shot to lead the team to an 11-3 victory in game two. The Bulls, now 7-11 and riding a five-game win streak, will take on MAC West foe Eastern Michigan. The three-game series will run from Friday to Sunday, weather permitting.
