BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo running back Emmanuel Reed has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Making his second career start for the Bulls, Reed rushed for a career-high 144 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-13 win at Kent State. Reed scored all of his touchdowns in the first half to pace the Bulls' offensive attack. On Buffalo's second drive of the game, he ripped off a career-long 55-yard run. He scored on an 18-yard run on the very next play. Reed also scored on touchdown runs of one and five yards. He became the first Buffalo player since 2014 to score three rushing touchdowns in a game.
Reed has been a revelation for the Bulls. He has posted three straight 100-yard rushing games and leads the Bulls with 384 yards and four touchdowns on the ground this season.
It marks the third time this season the Bulls have had a player honored by the conference. Adam Mitcheson was named Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 25 following the Bulls' win over Florida Atlantic. Khalil Hodge was named the Defensive Player of the Week after his 20-tackle performance at Minnesota in the opener.
