BUFFALO, NY – Former University at Buffalo quarterback Tyree Jackson has been selected to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL on January 26. Jackson will join former teammate Anthony Johnson who is also playing in the prestigious post-season all-star game.
Jackson, who recently announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft, is coming off the best season of this career. The 2018 Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year threw for 3,131 yards and 28 touchdowns on the year. His 28 touchdowns were second in school history for a single season and his 35 combined passing and rushing touchdowns were the most in program history for a single season.
It marks the first time in school history Buffalo will have two players play in the Senior Bowl in the same season. In fact, prior to this season, Gerry Philbin was the only other UB player to compete in the game, playing in the 1964 contest.
Jackson and Johnson will be teammates on the south team.
The Reese's Senior Bowl will be played on January 26, 2019 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, AL – the same stadium the Bulls played the Dollar General Bowl. The game will kick off at 2:30 pm (EST) and will air on the NFL Network.
