BUFFALO, NY - The Bulls will look for their fifth straight victory on Wednesday night as they make the short trip downtown to the First Niagara Center where they will face Big 4 rival Canisius. Both teams are coming off wins and are looking to continue winning streaks.
UB recently defeated St. Bonaventure, 78-73 after receiving 17 points from sophomore Jarryn Skeete and freshman Shannon Evans. Senior Javon McCrea continues to lead the Bulls in scoring and rebounding.
Canisius is 5-3 on the year following a pair of wins this past weeked over Saint Peter's and Siena. The Griffs are led by Billy Baron, who is averaging 19.9 points per game. They have three players averaging double figures.
Canisius leads the all-time series 26-15. UB has won seven of the last nine meetings.
- The Bulls have won four straight games, their longest streak since the 2011-12 season when they won eight in a row.
- UB is playing its first game at the First Niagara Center since 2004-05 when it defeated Indiana State on Nov. 27, 2004.
- Freshman Shannon Evans has scored in double figures in back-to-back games. Last season as a freshman, Jarryn Skeete scored double figures in three straight games.
- Today is UB's final game against Big 4 competition. The Bulls are looking to finish with a winning record in Big 4 games for the first time since 2011-12.
