BUFFALO, NY – Three more pieces of the University at Buffalo men's basketball schedule fell into place on Monday afternoon as the Big 4 announced their games against each other in a collective release put out by UB, Canisius, Niagara, and St. Bonaventure.
The Bulls will host Canisius in the regular season opener at Alumni Arena on Nov. 11. This will mark just the third meeting between the Bulls and Golden Griffins inside Alumni Arena since 2011-12. Buffalo won the last meeting at UB two seasons ago with a 98-96 overtime victory. The Griffs won last season's meeting in overtime at the KeyBank Center.
The Bulls will play Niagara and St. Bonaventure in back-to-back contests as UB will travel up to Niagara for the second straight year on Nov. 29 to face the Purple Eagles. UB has won two straight in the series with Niagara, including last year's season opener at the Gallagher Center, 76-66. Buffalo has won six of the last seven meetings against Niagara.
Buffalo will conclude action against the Big 4 just a few days later when they return to Alumni Arena to host St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Dec. 2. The Bonnies won last year's meeting at the Reilly Center, 90-84 and have won the last three meetings in the series. UB's last win over St. Bonaventure came at home during the 2013-14 season.
With the announcement of Syracuse late last month, the Bulls will now play four non-conference opponents from the state of New York. Buffalo has also previously announced non-conference games at Texas A&M (12/21) as well as participation in the Cayman Islands Classic (11/20-22).
The complete non-conference schedule will be announced later this week.
Fans wishing to become new season ticket holders for the 2017-18 season can call the UB Ticket Office to put down their deposit. Renewals for current season ticket holders will be sent out later this summer.
