BUFFALO, NY – For the fifth straight week a UB men's basketball play has been honored by the Mid-American Conference as junior Jeremy Harris was named the MAC East Co-Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Harris averaged a double-double for the Bulls as UB won a pair of games to improve to 8-0 in league play. The Greensboro, NC native averaged 19.5 points and 12.0 rebounds for the Bulls in wins over Eastern Michigan and Ohio. On Tuesday, Harris had 22 points, a career-high 14 rebounds and four assists in the win over Eastern Michigan. Harris had 20 of those points in the second half. He continued his strong play Friday night on the road at Ohio, with 17 points and 10 rebounds, for his fourth double-double of the season. Harris is second on the team in scoring in MAC games, averaging 16.5 points per game and he is third with 7.3 rebounds per contest.
This is the second time in the last three weeks that Harris has earned the honor. Fellow teammate Nick Perkins has also won the award twice since conference play has begun. Senior Wes Clark won the first award of 2018 and junior CJ Massinburg won it twice during non-conference play.
Buffalo has now earned player of the week honors seven times in 10 weeks this season.
The Bulls will look to remain unbeaten in conference play Tuesday night when they travel to face Kent State. Tip off is set for 7:00 pm and can be seen on ESPN3.
