BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo men's basketball senior forward Nick Perkins has been named the MAC East Co-Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. Perkins is the second UB player to be honored this season.
Perkins was named the Most Valuable Player at the Belfast Hall of Fame Classic as he averaged 21.0 points and 7.0 rebounds a game, powering the Bulls to a pair of wins and the tournament title. Perkins began the weekend on Friday with 20 points in the win over Milwaukee, tying his career high with four three pointers. On Saturday, the Bulls handed San Francisco their first loss of the season in eight tries as Perkins led the Bulls with a season-best 22 points and two blocked shots.
The two-time reigning Sixth Man of the Year, Perkins has come off the bench in all seven games and he is second on the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game and he leads the Bulls with 8.6 rebounds per contest.
Buffalo, who moved up to 17th in the latest national AP Poll will host Le Moyne on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm at Alumni Arena.
