BUFFALO, NY – For the second time this season, University at Buffalo senior forward Nick Perkins has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week.
Perkins led the Bulls with his second double-double of the season as Buffalo defeated Southern Illinois 73-65 on Saturday afternoon. Perkins had 11 of those 20 points during a 17-0 run in the first half, helping the Bulls get out to a big lead. He went 3-of-5 from behind the arc, finishing as the team's leading three-point shooter for the game. He also added 11 rebounds, including four on the offensive end.
Perkins was also named the MAC East Player of the Week two weeks ago when he was named the Most Valuable Player at the Belfast Hall of Fame Classic.
The Bulls return to action tomorrow night when they face Syracuse at the Carrier Dome. Tip off is at 8:00 pm and it will air on ESPN2.
