BUFFALO, NY – For the second straight week, senior CJ Massinburg has been named the MAC East Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the fourth time this season that Massinburg has been honored as the league's player of the week.
Massinburg averaged a double-double this past week as the Bulls improved their winning streak to seven games. Massinburg averaged 21.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game over the two victories. On Tuesday, Massinburg had 23 points in the win over Akron, while the senior added 10 rebounds and six assists, while not turning it over. He added 20 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists on Friday night in Buffalo's road win at Miami.
Massinburg has increased his scoring 1,878 career points as he looks to become just the third player in school history with 1,900 career points. He is also looking to become only the third active player in the nation with 1,900 points, 700 rebounds, and 300 assists.
Massinburg and the Bulls close out the regular season with a pair of contests this week beginning on Tuesday night at Ohio. On Friday, the Bulls will honor their five-member senior class after their regular season finale against Bowling Green.
