TULSA, OK – The National Association of Basketball Coaches have announced their All-District honors led by Nate Oats, who was named the District 14 Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Both CJ Massinburg and Nick Perkins earned All-District First Team honors and Jeremy Harris earned All-District Second Team honors.
Oats has led the Bulls to a 31-3 second entering today's NCAA Tournament game. The two-time MAC Coach of the Year, the Bulls have earned the highest seed in an NCAA Tournament by a MAC program since the field expanded in 1985.
Massinburg became the fifth player in school history to be named MAC Player of the Year and he was also a first-team All-MAC selection and an All-MAC Tournament team selection. He leads UB in scoring this year at 18.3 points per game and he is second on the squad with 6.6 rebounds. Massinburg is also one of two players on the team with 100 or more assists.
Perkins was also named an All-MAC first team selection as he was the league's Sixth Man of the Year for the third straight year, the first player ever to earn that honor in three straight seasons. He is averaging 14.4 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds this year.
Harris was named the MAC Tournament Most Valuable Player coming off a 31-point performance in the MAC Championship game against Bowling Green. Harris, who has been dubbed,"Mr. March," surpassed the 1,000 point scoring mark in his career during the conference tournament, doing so in just two seasons in a UB uniform. Harris is averaging 14.0 points and 6.1 boards per game.
