Charleston Classic

Complete Charleston Classic Bracket

BUFFALO, NY - ESPN Events has revealed the bracket for the 12th annual Charleston Classic, to be played Nov. 21, 22 & 24 at TD Arena in Charleston, SC. The University at Buffalo men's basketball team will play UConn first in the final game of the evening on Nov. 21 at either 9 or 9:30 pm.  That game will air live on ESPNU.

Buffalo is 1-7 all-time against UConn, but this will mark the first meeting between the schools since the Huskies, ranked second in the nation at the time, visited Alumni Arena during the 2008-09 season.

The Bulls and Huskies are joined on their half of the bracket by Xavier and Towson, who will meet in the opening round of games on Thursday.  UB will face either the Musketeers or the Tigers on Friday, Nov. 22.

The other side of the bracket will include Miami (FL) and Missouri State in the first game of the tournament and Florida and St. Joseph's in the second game of the tournament.  Buffalo will face one of those four programs on the final day of the tournament on Sunday, Nov. 24.

The bracket-format tournament features 12 games over three days. The teams compete once per day, regardless of results. The two unbeaten teams will face off in a championship game at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. That game will be televised on ESPN for the first time, having aired on ESPN2 or ESPNU in previous years. All 12 games will appear live on one of the ESPN family of networks.
