BUFFALO, NY – Coming off a difficult weekend of competition against some the Ivy League's best teams, University at Buffalo senior Ethan Nittolo has been named the MAC Singles Player of the Week. It is the second time this year Nittolo has earned singles player of the week honors to go along with a doubles team of the week honor two weeks ago.

Nittolo played at No. 1 singles over the weekend against some of the top teams in the Northeast.  On Friday, Nittolo played against the No. 41 player in the country in Victor Pham of Columbia.  After falling in the opening set, Nittolo was knotted up at 4-4 in the second when the match was stopped.  On Saturday, he knocked off Dylan King of Yale in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. 

Nittolo leads the Bulls in wins this season with 18 after helping UB to a 7-0 victory over Binghamton on Monday afternoon to improve to 3-1 in conference play.

UB will continue MAC action this weekend as it travels to Toledo on Friday afternoon.  The Bulls return to Miller Tennis Center on Sunday 12:30 pm when they host Northern Illinois.
