BUFFALO, NY – With just three regular season matches remaining, the University at Buffalo men's tennis team will play a pair of contests this weekend, beginning on Friday at Toledo. The Bulls will return home on Sunday afternoon against Northern Illinois.
Buffalo is 3-1 in Mid-American Conference play, having won all three of those matches by 7-0 scores. This will be the second of two meetings with Toledo, which UB swept back on March 17 at the Miller Tennis Center. Friday's contest against the Rockets, which is set for 1:00 pm, will air on ESPN+.
Toledo is 10-9 on the season with a 3-1 record in MAC play, its lone loss coming to the Bulls. The Rockets have a pair of 5-2 wins over Binghamton and a 4-3 victory over Ball State.
On Sunday, the Bulls will return home for the first of two straight matches at the Miller Tennis Center when they face Northern Illinois at 12:30 pm. This will be the first meeting this year between the Bulls and Huskies. NIU is 10-10 on the year and 2-3 in MAC play. Two of the three losses have come against defending MAC Champion, Western Michigan.
For Buffalo, the home matches will serve as the final two for senior Ethan Nittolo, who is the reigning MAC Singles Player of the Week, and it will be the first time UB has been in Western New York since the middle of March.
Over the final three matches, Buffalo will be looking to position itself for one of the top seeds in the upcoming MAC Tournament, which will be held at Western Michigan from April 19-21. The top two seeds will receive a bye straight to the MAC Semifinals.
While Friday's match at Toledo will be broadcasted on ESPN+, Sunday's home match will have live stats provided on UBBulls.com.
Sunday's promotions will include free UB buffs for the first 100 fans and double UB Reward app points for students.
