Men’s Tennis Concludes Regular Season With Senior Day Affair

Ethan Nittolo

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team will conclude the regular season on Friday afternoon when the Bulls host Ball State at Miller Tennis Center at 12:00 pm.  Prior to the match, Buffalo will honor its lone senior Ethan Nittolo beginning at approximately 11:45 am.

The Bulls are 5-1 in league play following their 5-2 win over Northern Illinois this past Sunday. UB has locked up the #2 seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament, giving them a bye straight to the semifinals.  Buffalo does still have a chance at sharing the MAC Regular Season crown with a win on Friday afternoon and a Western Michigan loss to Toledo.

Buffalo has won three in a row as it prepares for its final regular season match.  Most recently, UB swept the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week awards with junior Vilhelm Fridell earning the singles player of the week and Nittolo and Hao Sheng Koay earning doubles team of the week honors.

Nittolo is UB's all-time winningest doubles player as his outstanding four-year career winds down.  In addition to his prowess in doubles, Nittolo has spent most of the season playing number one singles for Buffalo, twice being named MAC singles player of the week.  He is tied for the team lead in singles this year with a 19-12 record, tying him for third place on UB's career singles list with 74 wins.

Ball State is 10-12 and 1-4 in league play entering the final weekend.  The Cardinals still have two matches remaining as they head to Binghamton on Friday.

There will be free pizza for students beginning at 11:30 am at Miller Tennis Center.

Next week, Buffalo will begin MAC Tournament play when they head to Kalamazoo, MI. UB's first match will take place on Saturday April 20.
