Bulls Fall to Chattanooga in Final Game of USF Tournament

CLEARWATER, FL – The Unviersity at Buffalo softball team fell to Chattanooga 11-6 in six innings in the final game of the USF Tournament on Sunday.

Chattanooga got on the board in the top of the first, scoring two runs on three hits. The Bulls answered in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs on a two-RBI double off the bat of Catrell Robertson and a two-run home run to center by Alicia Peters to take a 4-2 lead.

In the bottom of the second, Peters smacked an RBI single to right and later the Bulls would add another run on an RBI walk to take a 6-2 lead.

But it would be all Chattanooga from there as the Mocs scored seven runs on seven hits and one error to take a 9-6 lead and would add insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings to secure the victory.

Peters finished 2-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBI and a run scored, while Robertson went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.

Up next the Bulls travel to Miami, Florida on Tuesday, March 19, for a doubleheader at Florida International beginning at 5 p.m.
