BUFFALO, NY – After splitting its conference-opening series last weekend, the University at Buffalo softball team will host Central Michigan in a three-game series at Nan Harvey Field.
Due to forecasted weather, the two sides with play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 pm ET and the second game will begin at approximately 3 pm. Play will conclude with a single game on Saturday at Noon.
The Bulls split with the Huskies during the opening weekend of MAC play, winning the first game of the doubleheader at D'Youville College 8-4, before falling 10-4 in game two.
Buffalo is being led at the plate by sophomore Anna Aguon who owns a .392 batting average to go along with 13 runs scored, 10 RBI and two home runs while slugging .622. Junior Jenelle Martinez is continuing her solid career in the blue and white as she is batting .292 with 10 RBI and 11 runs scored.
Central Michigan enters the weekend series with an 11-16 overall record and a 2-1 MAC mark after falling to Michigan 8-0 on Tuesday. CMU took 2-of-3 games with Miami (OH) in Oxford last weekend to open MAC play. CMU is led offensively by Shaidan Knapp who is batting .333 with a home run, three doubles, a triple, three RBI and 14 runs scored while slugging .444.
In the circle, the Chippewas are led by Kaitlyn Bean who has recorded a 3-3 record to go along with a 2.71 ERA as she has struck out 31 batters across 49.0 innings of work.
After the weekend series, UB will travel to Akron for a midweek MAC doubleheader with the Zips starting at 1 pm.
