OXFORD, OH – The University at Buffalo softball team dropped the series finale at Miami (OH), 3-2, on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulls struck first scoring two runs in the top of the first on RBI singles by Jenelle Martinez and Gabby Keller to take an early 2-0 lead but once again UB left the bases juiced and that would come back to bite the Bulls as runs would be at a premium until the bottom of the sixth when the RedHawks broke through scoring three runs on three hits and a UB error to take a 3-2 lead.

Hannah Bardeen came inches away from tying the game in the top of the seventh as she drilled a pitch to deep center field but it came up short as did the Bulls as Miami hung on for the narrow victory.

Anna Aguon finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored. Senior Ally Power got the start in the circle, giving up three runs on six hits while striking out five in six innings of work.

Up next, the Bulls wrap up their road trip at St. Bonaventure with a single game on Wednesday at 3pm.
