Bulls to Compete in 10 Events at NCAA East T&F Preliminaries

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York outdoor men's and women's track & field teams will compete in 10 events May 28-30 at the NCAA East Preliminaries hosted by North Florida.

The men will compete in six events and the women four. With top-12 finishes at the prelims, student-athletes will earn a trip to the NCAA Championships at Oregon, June 10-13.

Ryan Billian is the lone Bull competing in a pair of events. With the 19th-best time in the east and a school record of 10.35, he'll race in the 100-meter dash first round on Thursday. Billian will be joined by Brian Cummiskey, Joshua Gali and Darien Johnson in the 4x100 on Saturday, while Mike Morgan will serve as an alternate. The relay has the 14th-fastest time in the east of 40.10.

Three Bulls will compete in the men's shot put, while two will represent UB in the men's 800 run and the women's discus.

With a 20.70-meter mark, Jonathan Jones has the second-finest shot put toss in the east. Devon Patterson and Ryan Cribbin will also throw Saturday with qualifying marks of 18.15 and 18.10 meters, respectively, to rank 26th and 27th.

Brian Crimmins and Tyler Scheving sit 30th and 35th in the 800 with times of 1:48.71, a school record, and 1:49.02. The first round will be contested Thursday. Miranda Daucher has the 12th-best discus distance of 53.72 meters and Taylor Woods sits 46th with a 48.96-meter performance. The discus will take place on Friday.

Camaria Long ranks 28th in the 200 dash with her school-record time of 23.58. She will race in the first round on Friday. Also sitting 28th is Emma Siuciak with a 1.77-meter clear in the high jump. She will compete on Saturday. Meghan Manley will race in the first round of the 800 run on Thursday. She ranks 31st with a time of 2:06.76.

Austin Ashby's 7.56-meter leap in the long jump sits him 24th in the field that will compete on Thursday. Laurent Dure' cleared 2.08 meters this season, good for 39th in the east, and will jump on Friday.
