Bulls Open Competition at NCAA East Prelims, Billian Advances to 100 Quarterfinals

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed in three events Thursday at day one of the NCAA East Preliminaries at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

Junior Ryan Billian was one of 48 scheduled to race in the men's 100-meter dash. He clocked in at 10.42, the 12th-best time, and is one of 24 advancing to the quarterfinals that will take place Friday at 6:45 pm.

Senior Meghan Manley's collegiate career came to a close as she raced to a 2:08.41 finish in the 800 run to place 39th.

Juniors Tyler Scheving and Brian Crimmins narrowly missed the 800 quarterfinals, placing 26th and 34th, respectively, in the first round with times of 1:49.08 and 1:49.63.

The Bulls will compete in four events Friday: the women's discus throw first round, the men's high jump first round, the men's 100 dash quarterfinal and the women's 200 dash first round.
