EUGENE, OR – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York men's track & field team is sending four to Oregon to compete at the USATF Championships June 25-28.
Jonathan Jones, who graduated from UB in May, won the national title in the shot put on June 10 at the NCAA Championships – the first national championship in UB's Division I history. He looks to secure a spot in the 2015 IAAF World Championships to be held Aug. 22-30 in Beijing. Jones will throw on Sunday at 12:20 pm PT.
Morgan will compete in the decathlon that will take place Thursday and Friday. Patterson will throw in the junior shot put on Friday at 1:05 pm, while Moore will race in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles first round on Friday at 1:45 pm. The junior 400IH finals will take place on Saturday at 4:51 pm.
Jones' school-record mark of 20.78 meters in the shot put came on his second throw at the NCAA Championships. Morgan, who also competed at the national meet, holds the decathlon record at UB set in 2014 with 7,699 points. Patterson's best shot put heave is 18.15 meters, while Moore's top time in the 400 hurdles is 53.64.
