Former Standout Kelly Truppo Hired as Part-Time Assistant Track & Field Coach

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo track and field head coach Vicki Mitchell has announced the hiring of Kelly Truppo as a part-time assistant coach. A 2015 University at Buffalo graduate and stand-out pole vaulter, Truppo will serve as assistant coach for pole vault.

"I am excited to welcome Kelly back in a new capacity with the UB track and field team," Mitchell said. "She brings extensive knowledge of the pole vault and experience in the Mid-American Conference which is arguably one of the strongest pole vault conferences in the NCAA."

During her undergraduate career, Truppo set personal bests of 13'5.25" in the pole vault and took the bronze medal at the 2014 Indoor MAC Championships.  She currently holds UB's second all-time best indoor performance mark in the pole vault of 13'5'2.5" and third all-time best outdoor performance mark of 13'3.50".

Truppo earned her degree in 2015 from the University at Buffalo in social science interdisciplinary, health and human services with a minor in health and wellness and a concentration in community mental health.
