BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo Track and Field director and head coach Vicki Mitchell has announced that Lily Meek has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend UB and compete for the Bulls beginning in the fall of 2018.
Meek hails from Thousand Island Secondary School in Brockville, Ontario and is one of the province's top distance runners. She trained with the Brockville Legion Club Team. She is both a specialist on the track with personal best times of 4:34.89 and 10:09.72/3000m and in cross country placing in the top 20 at the OFSAA Cross Country Championships.
Meek completed at the Canadian Junior Track & Field Championships this past July and will be competing at the Canadian Cross Country Championships later this month in Kingston, Ontario.
"Lily will be adding to the strength and depth of our women's cross country and distance team," Mitchell said. "Her potential is limitless. Lily is a strong and focused student-athlete and will be a great addition to the UB Bulls family."
Academically, Meek has a 4.0 grade point average and looks to major in english or geography.
