BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo graduate Brittany Hedderson has signed a contract to play professional basketball with Turun Riento in Turku, Finland. Hedderson will be playing in the top-division in Finland with her season starting on October 6th.
Hedderson was a first-team All-MAC selection last season, the third straight year that UB has had a member on the first team. She had a career year as a senior for the Bulls as she finished second in the league in scoring at 20.4 points per game. She had four 30-point performances on the year, including a school record 39 points in a win over Oakland.
Hedderson finished her senior year second in school history in points for a season with 631, while her 1,169 minutes played this last year are first in school history. For her career, she finished fourth in scoring (1,462), fourth in field goals (555), third in three point field goals (161) and eighth in assists (311). She ends her career as one of only two players in school history to record 1,400 points and 300 assists, joining Brenna Doty.
Hedderson joins former UB graduate Viorica Badinici, who played for Turun Riento last season.
