BUFFALO, NY – Highlighted by tournaments in Puerto Rico and Arizona State, University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced the Bulls 2017-18 non-conference schedule on Monday afternoon. The schedule features opponents from the Big Ten, ACC, PAC-12 and Big East and the Bulls will be hosting three non-conference foes at Alumni Arena.
The Bulls will begin their season with an exhibition game against division II member Bloomsburg on Friday, November 3 at 5:30 pm inside Alumni Arena. Buffalo will then remain home for their first two games of the regular season as they will welcome the Delaware Blue Hens on Friday, November 10 for a 2:00 pm tip in the season opener. On Monday, November 13 Maryland Eastern Shore will come to town with tip set for 7:00 pm.
After a 10-day break, the Bulls will pack their bags and head to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the 2017 San Juan Shootout over Thanksgiving break. The San Juan Shootout has been running since 1987 and it is the first time UB has been invited to participate. All games in the tournament will take place at the Mario Morales Coliseum.
Buffalo will open up the tournament on Friday, November 24 at 3:15 pm against Big Ten foe Nebraska. UB will then close out their international trip with a contest against ACC member Clemson on Saturday, November, 25 at 5:30 pm. The Bulls took down the Tigers two seasons ago in the UCF Thanksgiving Classic.
December begins with another long trip for the Bulls as they head to Tempe, Arizona to participate in the Arizona State Classic. Buffalo will open up the tournament against the host Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday, December 2 before taking on either UNLV or UC-Riverside on Sunday, December 3.
After back-to-back road tournaments, the Bulls will return home on Thursday, December 7 as they welcome Big Four rival Canisius to Alumni Arena for a 7:00 pm showdown.
The Bulls will then wrap up their non-conference slate with four straight road games in December. The road trip kicks off with a stop in New York City to take on the Columbia Lions on Saturday, December 9. Buffalo will then take on a pair of Big Four rivals as they take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Friday, December 15 and the Niagara Purple Eagles on Monday, December 18. The non-conference schedule will come to a close on Thursday, December 21 as the Bulls head to Queens, NY to take on the St. John's Red Storm.
The Mid-American Conference portion of the Bulls schedule will begin on December 30. Conference games will be released at a later date.
Fans wishing to become new season ticket holders for the 2017-18 season can call the UB Ticket Office to put down their deposit. Renewals for current season ticket holders will be sent out later this summer.
