BUFFALO, NY – Sixth-year University at Buffalo women's basketball head coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced the signing of five student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Monday afternoon. Oceane Kounkou, Alexis Adams, Zena Elias, Adebola Adeyeye and Keowa Walters will join the Bulls for the 2018-19 academic year.
"I am so excited to present to our UBWBB alumnae and friends, five incredible student athletes," said sixth-year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack. "We have raised the bar for our WBB Program and I sincerely believe with this upcoming class we will go even higher."
Adebola Adeyeye comes to Buffalo from nearby Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The 6-2 forward is currently playing high school basketball at The Rock High School in Gainesville, FL where she averaged 12.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 1.9 steals during her junior season. The athletic forward was able to secure an average of 7.2 offensive rebounds per game last season. Adeyeye is known for running in transition and hitting the offensive boards.
Oceane Kounkou will join the Bulls from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The 5-10 guard is currently playing in her second season at Dawson College in Quebec. She was able to average 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists last season at Dawson College. Kounkou is an athletic and long guard who can shoot the ball and is very good on the defensive end of the court.
Alexis Adams comes to Buffalo from Monmouth Junction, New Jersey where she plays for South Brunswick High School. The 6-0 forward was able to average 8.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks during her junior season last year. Adams is the definition of a gritty player that attacks every loose ball and rebound.
Zena Elias is a 6-3 center that comes to the Bulls from Clearwater, FL where she plays at Countryside High School. Elias has played varsity basketball all four years in high school and is coming off of a junior season that she averaged 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
Keowa Walters joins the Bulls from nearby Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Last season, Walters played at The Rock High School in Gainesville, FL with fellow NLI signee Adebola Adeyeye where she averaged 8.2 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals across 31 games. The 6-3 forward is currently playing for Vaughan S.S. in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association, one of the best prep basketball leagues in all of Canada.

"We stand for character, academics, and basketball and we know that these young ladies fulfill each of those categories.
