VESTAL, NY – Competing in their final dual of the season, the University at Buffalo wrestling team took down Binghamton, 31-9, at the Binghamton Events Center on Friday night. It was the Bulls' 11th dual win of the season which is their most since 2004.
Justin Patrick started things off for the Bulls at 125. Patrick jumped out to a 4-2 lead after the first period and held on for the 7-6 decision over Steven Bulzomi.
Bryan Lantry continued his great season with a third-period pin of Audey Ashkar. It was Lantry's sixth straight win and his fifth pin of the season.
Jason Estevez followed with a 3-2 decision over Dylan Caruana at 141. It was Estevez's third straight dual win.
Brett Perry had the biggest win of his career with a 7-6 decision over 15th-ranked Steve Schneider at 184. It was Perry's first career win over a ranked opponent.
"It was a great team performance tonight," head coach John Stutzman said. "Brett Perry stole the show with an upset of a nationally-ranked opponent."
Up next for the Bulls are the Mid-American Conference Championships beginning March 4.
