BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling program has released its schedule for the 2017-18 season and it looks to be the most challenging in head coach John Stutzman's tenure. UB's opponents include Missouri, Michigan State, Iowa and two-time defending national champion Penn State.
The Bulls will open the season at home against Cal State Bakersfield on November 2. On November 17, UB will compete at the Iowa City Duals. Host Iowa, Iowa Central, North Dakota State and Cornell will be competing.
The Bulls will open Mid-American Conference action on November 25 when they host Ohio. On December 8, UB will host Michigan State. It will be the first ever meeting between the Bulls and the Spartans.
After a road dual at Kent State on December 10, Buffalo will return home to host Cornell on December 18. The Bulls will close out the calendar year at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championship on December 29 and 30.
Buffalo will spend the early part of January on the road with duals at Columbia (Jan. 6), Missouri (Jan. 11) and SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 12). The Bulls will return home to host Old Dominion on January 19.
UB will travel to Central Michigan (Jan. 21), Hofstra (Jan. 27) and Eastern Michigan (Feb. 3) before hosting Binghamton in the home finale on Feb. 16.
Buffalo's final dual of the season will pit the Bulls against Penn State, one of the nation's most storied programs, at Rec Hall on February 18. The Nittany Lions have won six of the last seven national championships.
The Mid-American Conference Championships being on March 3 at Central Michigan.
