Bulls Open Homestand on Friday in Search of Third Straight Win

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team will host Central Michigan on Friday night in the first of three straight home duals. The Bulls are in search of their third straight win and have won six of their last eight dual matches.

Buffalo is coming off a 28-13 win at Kent State on January 26. The Bulls are 9-4 in duals on the season and a win over Central Michigan would be give them a double-digit win total for the third time in the last four years.

The Bulls have two wrestlers in the national rankings. Senior Bryan Lantry is ranked eighth at 141 lbs. and senior Jake Gunning is ranked 12th at heavyweight.

Central Michigan is 3-6 in duals on the season and is coming off a 19-15 loss against Ohio on Sunday. The Chippewas are led by heavyweight Matt Stencel who is ranked 20th in the nation with a 20-4 record.

It will be the 24th meeting between the schools. Central Michigan has won every meeting in the series, including a 26-9 victory last season.
