Bulls Host Northern Illinois in Final Home Dual on Friday

Bulls Host Northern Illinois in Final Home Dual on Friday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team will host Northern Illinois on Friday afternoon in search of its fifth straight win. Due to a scheduling conflict, the dual will be held at the Ed Wright Practice Facility at Alumni Arena and will start at 2 pm.

Buffalo is 11-4 overall and 4-2 in Mid-American Conference duals on the season. A win over Northern Illinois would tied the school record for dual wins in a season as a Division I program and would be UB's fifth conference win on the year – also a program record.

The Bulls have two wrestlers in the national rankings. Senior Bryan Lantry is ranked 15th at 141 lbs. and senior Jake Gunning is ranked 15th at heavyweight.

Northern Illinois is 8-9 in duals on the season and is coming off a 26-7 win at Cleveland State last Saturday. The Huskies are led by Brit Wilson at 174 lbs. The freshman is 22-4 overall and ranked 15th in the nation.

It will be the 20th meeting between the schools. Northern Illinois leads the all-time series, 12-7. The Huskies won last year's meeting, 19-16, at Alumni Arena.

Friday's dual is scheduled to start at 2 pm. A free video stream of the dual is available by clicking here.
