BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling program will host three instructional camps beginning June 24. The Bulls will host a Commuter Technique Camp June 24-26, an All-Girls Wrestling Camp June 29-30 and a Team Competition Camp July 7-10.
The Commuter Technique Camp, open to all ages, is a three-day Technique Camp focusing on fundamental drills and techniques from all positions to help you improve your skill set. You'll receive detailed instruction on current setups, takedowns, escapes, breakdowns and pinning combinations. The goal of our Technique Camp is to give each you a better understanding of the sport and how you can grow and develop from it.
The All-Girl Wrestling Camp, open to all ages, will cover a scoring system of what to do from the common areas they find themselves in every match. Whether a wrestler finds herself in a good position or a bad one, she still needs to know how to build position and wrestle out of it. This is what the Girls camp will focus on and the wrestlers are sure to get a lot out of it. Wrestlers will become fundamentally sound in the core positions they find themselves in during every match.
The Team Competition Camp meets the needs of all wrestlers entering grades 7-12, from beginner through advanced levels. Campers are grouped according to experience and skill level. This camp concentrates on technique instruction and competition. It features three sessions daily consisting of technique instruction, drills and competition, including special sessions in the evening comprised of competition, nutrition, strength training and leadership.
