BUFFALO, NY – For the second time this season, senior swimmer Megan Burns has been named Mid-American Conference Co-Swimmer/Diver of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning. Burns earns the weekly recognition for the second time while fellow senior Hannah Miller has earned the weekly praise once.
Burns continued to improve last weekend as she helped lead UB past Miami (OH) for the first time in program history as she notched three victories in the Bulls 198-102 win. The senior opened the day with a strong victory in the 50 freestyle as she posted a time of 23.05. She backed that up with a win in the 100 freestyle in 50.62 seconds, winning by more than two seconds. She was then able to close her day with her third win of the afternoon in the 200 freestyle as she bested the field by over a second, finishing in 1:50.06.
Burns helped UB improve to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in MAC duals for the first time in program history. Buffalo will close out their MAC dual meet schedule on Saturday at 12:00 pm as they travel to Ball State.
