BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team will hit the road for the first time in Mid-American Conference play as they head to Northern Illinois on Saturday. The match will take place at 5:00pm EST and will played at Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford, IL.
The Bulls are 10-3 on the season and 1-1 in the MAC after splitting a pair of 4-3 decisions last weekend. UB dropped its MAC opener to Eastern Michigan before defeating Toledo last Saturday. All six players in UB's singles starting lineup have at least 12 wins, led by 17 wins from both Laura Fernandez and Margarita Kotok. Overall, the Bulls have a 92-41 combined singles record.
UB has made its biggest improvement this season in doubles as the Bulls enter the weekend with a 48-22 combined record. Seniors Tanvi Shah and Miranda Podlas lead the way with 14 doubles victories while Kotok and fellow freshman Laura Holterbosch have won all eight doubles matches that they have competed in.
Northern Illinois is 5-7 on the season and 0-2 in the MAC as they lost matches at Ball State and Miami (OH) last weekend.
