Women’s Tennis Hosts Pivotal MAC Home Games

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team will play its final matches in Western New York this weekend as they host Miami (OH) on Friday afternoon and Ball State on Saturday.  Both matches begin at 1:00 pm and will take place at the Miller Tennis Center.

The Bulls are 11-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference play following a 6-1 victory at Northern Illinois last weekend.  The matches will be the last home contests for four UB seniors: Anamaria Candanoza, Miranda Podlas, Tanvi Shah, and Marta Stoyanova.  The group has helped the Bulls win 24 matches over the last two seasons.  Following the weekend, the Bulls will play their final three conference matches on the road.

Miami (OH) enters the weekend with an 11-4 record and a 2-0 record in conference, having defeated Ball State and Northern Illinois.  The RedHawks had won three straight matches before losing their last match, 4-3, to Louisville.

UB will face Ball State on Saturday afternoon, which is Senior Day.  The Cardinals are 11-7 on the season 1-1 in conference play with a victory over NIU to its credit.

All matches will take place at Miller Tennis Center, which is located at 5959 Sheridan Drive, Williamsville, NY, 14221.
