BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team will honor one of their most successful senior classes in school history on Saturday afternoon as the Bulls host Akron in their final regular season home match. The match will be held at the Miller Tennis Center at 1pm, with a brief senior recognition prior to the match. A full ceremony will occur at the conclusion.
UB's senior class includes one of the most successful players in school history in Chantal Martinez Blanco, who recently picked up her 79th singles victory of her career on Sunday, just four shy of the school record. Right behind her is fellow senior Sanjana Sudhir, who currently has 72 singles wins, one of only seven players in school history with 70 or more singles victories.
Fellow four-year senior Mercedes Losada Rubio will also be honored as she is just one singles victory shy of 50 for her career. Arianna Paules Aldrey is in her second year with the program and has mostly starred in doubles this season, with 10 victories.
Since joining the program in 2015-16, this group has gone 59-26 in dual competition, winning two Mid-American Conference Tournament titles and a MAC Regular Season Title last year.
