CLEVELAND, OH – Junior Tahleia Bishop and freshman Cassie Shado both earned postseason All-MAC honors, the conference office announced on Thursday afternoon. For the second straight year, Bishop was named to All-MAC First Team, while Shado was named to the league's All-Freshman Team.
Despite dealing with injuries through out the year, Bishop leads the Bulls with 376 kills, averaging 4.13 kills per set. She is also third on the team with 245 digs. Twice this season, Bishop was named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week. She has reached double figures in kills 21 times this season, including going over 20 kills seven times. She had a season-high 24 kills vs. Butler. Defensively, she had a career-best 29 digs at Miami (OH).
In her first season with the Bulls, Shado continued to improve for UB through out the year. She has 121 kills on the year, including 80 of those coming in conference play. Shado has been one of the top blockers in the conference, averaging 1.12 blocks per set. Shado has recorded double figures in kills three times. She had a career-high 12 kills in five-set matches against Eastern Michigan and Toledo. Defensively, she recorded a career-best eight blocks twice, including the final regular season match at Toledo.
The Bulls will open up Mid-American Conference Tournament play tomorrow as the eighth seeded Bulls face the fifth seeded Western Michigan Broncos at 5:30 pm.
