Bulls Make Final Preparations At Annual Blue-White Scrimmage

BUFFALO, NY -  Head volleyball coach Blair Brown Lipsitz saw her team in a match-like setting for the first time on Saturday as the University at Buffalo volleyball team took part in its annual Blue-White Scrimmage.

The Bulls got excellent performances from their newcomers as freshman setter Scout McLerran led the way offensively with her team winning every set.  Fellow freshman Rachel Sanks had a match-high 16 kills, while sophomore Valisha Watkins added 13.  Fifth-year senior Amber Hatchett added 11 kills as did freshman Kristina Curcin.

The Bulls combined for 19.5 blocks, led by eight from junior Cassie Shado and six from Megan Wernette.  McLerran added three.

"I thought it was a good day to get the team out there and put them in real match scenarios," said head coach Blair Brown Lipsitz.  "We saw some really good things out there and some things we will continue to work on this week."

The Bulls will open the regular season on Friday down in Charlottesville, VA at the UVA Tournament.  The Bulls face the host Cavaliers at 11am on Friday.
