The Mid-American Conference announced the Distinguished Scholar Athletes from the seven fall sports during this 2018-19 academic season and four University at Buffalo student-athletes made the list. Volleyball’s Scout McLerran and Kristina Nieves, women’s soccer’s Carissima Cutrona and football’s Matt Otwinwoski were voted by faculty athletic representatives at MAC institutions representing the ‘best of the best’ from each sports Academic All-MAC Teams.
The University at Buffalo volleyball team had their 2018 season come to an end on Friday as the fourth-seeded Bulls lost to #5 Eastern Michigan, 3-1, in the MAC Quarterfinals. The Bulls will finish the season with an 18-11 record and a 10-6 mark in league play. The 18 wins are tied for the most since 2013.

For the first time ever the University at Buffalo volleyball team picked up a win in Kalamazoo as the Bulls defeated Western Michigan, 3-1. It was just the third ever win for the Bulls against the Broncos and the second straight year that UB has defeated WMU. Buffalo improved to 11-8 with the win and 3-4 in league play.
The University at Buffalo volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to MAC West-leading Ball State on Saturday evening as the Bulls recorded 23 hitting errors and seven errors at the service line, which led to their undoing. The loss drops UB to 10-8 on the year and 2-4 in the MAC.
