BUFFALO, NY – UB cross country head coach Vicki Mitchell announced her programs' 2014 schedules on Tuesday afternoon. The Bulls will compete in seven races and will aim for their first-ever Mid-American Conference team championships.
The Bulls will open the season on Aug. 30 as they will travel to the Duquesne Duals in Pittsburgh, PA. The following weekend, UB will host the UB Stampede Invite at Beaver Island State Park. Start time for the races will be 12:00 pm for the men and 12:45 pm for the women.
On Sept. 20, the Bulls will head to the Meet of Champions, which is hosted by Iona College in New York, NY. Two weeks later the blue and white will make the trip to Bethlehem, PA for the Paul Short Invite.
The Bulls will run in their final meet of the regular season on Oct. 18 as they will compete in the Princeton Invite. The meet hosted by Princeton College will be the Bulls final race before the MAC Championships.
Turning to November, UB will head to Mount Pleasant, MI, to race in the 2014 MAC Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1. Last year, the men collected their second straight fifth place finish and had their program's first-ever individual champion as Zach Ahart raced to victory.
After an off week, the Bulls will return to the course with the NCAA Northeast Championships on Nov. 14 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY.
Should either side qualify this year, they will have the chance to run against the nation's best at the 2014 NCAA Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Terre Haute, IN. The event will be hosted by Indiana State University.
