The longtime dream of an on-campus fieldhouse at the University at Buffalo will soon be a reality. University at Buffalo Director of Athletics Allen Greene announced on Friday that the university has secured the services of Rochester-based LeChase Construction as the general contractor and New York-based architecture firm CHA for the project.
BUFFALO, NY – On a picture perfect afternoon in Amherst, the University at Buffalo cross country teams produced a pair of top-3 three team finishes at the annual UB Stampede Invite at the Audobon Golf Course. Sophomore Stephanie Ward improved on her second place finish at the event last season with a dominating victory in the women’s race while Dan Muldoon posted a top-10 finish for the UB men.
HAMILTON, NY - The University at Buffalo cross country teams started out their 2017 campaigns on a strong note as both the women and the men were able to collect second place finishes at the Harry Lang Invitational hosted by Colgate. The Bulls placed ahead of Colgate in both races and behind Syracuse.

The NCAA released annual Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) data on Thursday afternoon and nine UB programs had perfect single-year rates for 2015-16, while men’s tennis continues to lead the charge with a perfect four-year rate.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced Tuesday that the University at Buffalo has been selected to host the NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regionals for 2018 and 2019. The event will be held at Audubon Golf Course, just minutes from the North Campus.
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s cross country team was honored by the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their work in the classroom. Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams were honored for their academics.
It was another solid semester in the classroom for University at Buffalo student-athletes as they posted a combine 3.029 grade point average. It marked the 10th straight semester UB student-athletes have surpassed the 3.0 combined mark.
CLEVELAND, OH – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2016 men’s and women’s cross country Academic All-MAC team. Buffalo placed six individuals on the team across both squads with three for the men and three for the women. Being a member of the Academic All-MAC team requires a student-athlete to have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and must participate in at least 50 percent of the contests in their sports.
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men’s and women’s cross country team traveled to Bronx, NY to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regionals. The men and women raced against three nationally ranked, and 15 regionally ranked teams each. The two teams performed exceptionally and were able to finish second best in program history each.

Both teams are looking to improve on last year’s results. In 2015, the men took away a sixth place finish while the women took home a fifth place finish.
BUFFALO, NY – The men’s and women’s cross country team traveled to Delaware Park in Buffalo, NY Saturday to compete in the Canisius Classic. The women posted a fifth place finish, while the men finished in fourth.
UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – The top runners from the men’s and women’s cross country team traveled to University Park, PA on Friday to compete in the Penn State Open Invitational. The women were able to take home a 12th place finish out of 19 teams with a score of 311. The men fought hard, but were only able to take away a 14th place finish.
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo cross country’s head coach, Vicki Mitchell isn’t letting the most recent regional rankings get to her of the teams. Most recently, the men’s team jumped to a number 10 ranking in the Northeast Region, while the women were ranked number 13. Mithell is looking to jump even higher after the upcoming weekend: the Penn State Open and the canines Canisius Classic.

After an impressive weekend at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitation where they placed 15th out of 38 teams, the men have rose five spots to 10th overall in the northeast regional rankings, and the women have rose one spot to sit at 13th.
BETHLEHEM, PA – The men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to Bethlehem, PA on Saturday to compete in the 43rd annual Lehigh Paul Short Invitational. The race consists of the men’s and women’s gold and open races. The event takes teams from across the nation in Divisions I, II, and III that are ranked regionally and nationally and pits them against each other in a competitive race. This year, the Buffalo teams competed in the gold race.

This event takes top runners in Division I, II, and III from across the nation that are regionally and nationally ranked and pits them against each other. Last year, the Bulls ran to two Top-10 finishes as a team.

The men were able to seal a fourth place finish, only being eight points behind third place, Duquesne. The women had an outstanding meet, placing second overall after the tie-breaker and having seven Top-15 finishers.
