- Jackie Hall made the save of the game in the 39th minute as she came out of nowhere and booted away a crossing attempt to a wide open striker in front of the cage with a sliding attempt.
- As the second half struck, the Orange continued to put the pressure on as Laura Dougall made a huge diving stop to her left off of a free kick from Jackie Firenze.
- A couple minutes later, Laura Dougall used her whole 6-foot frame to tip a shot from Firenze just over the top of the net, keeping the game scoreless.
- With 10 minutes left in regulation, Jackie Hall once again saved a great chance as she blocked away the attempt on an open net by Sheridan Street.
- After Laura made another big diving save in the 86th minute, the Bulls had their best opportunity of the match to score as Carissima Cutrona was dragged down in the box, giving the Bulls a penalty kick with just over a minute remaining in the match. On the ensuing penalty kick, Julia Benati was robbed as the Syracuse keeper read the shot and dove to her right to keep the ball from going in the net.
- The Orange began the first overtime with a little extra hop in their step as they dominated the Bulls. Syracuse held the 6-0 edge in shots during the first overtime as Maya Pitts had the best chance but her hard shot from 15 yards out went just over the top of the UB net, keeping the game scoreless at the end of the first overtime.
- In the 104th minute, Julia Benati received a great cross from Angel Hart but her shot went skipping off the cross bar and out of play.
- Finally in the 108th minute the Bulls were able to notch the game-winning goal as Kassidy Kidd had a great shot that rang off the cross bar. The carom however went right to the right foot of Dana Lytle who buried the winner in the back of the net to give UB the victory.
