
Bulls Fall to #6 Missouri, 32-6

COLUMBIA, MO – The University of Missouri extended its match win streak to 34 with a 32-6 win over the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York wrestling team at the Hearnes Center on Friday night.
Jake Gunning earned the Bulls lone win when he pinned James Romero at the 2:29 mark. It was Gunning's second pin of the season and improved his dual record to 7-4 on the year.
Eight of the Tigers' 10 wrestlers were ranked 11th or higher nationally with five in the top six. Colt Cotten took Lavion Mayes, ranked third in the nation, to the wire before Mayes came from behind in the final 30 seconds to earn a 13-10 decision.
"We wrestled well in most matches and we had chances to really put a scare in them," head coach John Stutzman said. "We need to learn to believe in ourselves regardless of our competition; wrestle harder and smarter and wrestle with confidence."
The Bulls (6-5, 0-3 MAC) will next wrestle against Columbia and Sacred Heart on January 16.
