
Men's Tennis Heads South For A Pair Of Matches

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team will head south to Jacksonville, FL this weekend for a pair of matches beginning on Saturday against Mercer and followed up on Sunday against North Florida.
The Bulls are 1-1 on the season following a narrow 4-3 loss to Temple last weekend. UB's first victory of the season did come on the road in the season opener with a 4-3 victory at Harvard.
The Bulls will play Mercer at 1:30 on Saturday afternoon to kick off the weekend. The Bears, who will play North Florida on Friday afternoon, enter the weekend with a 3-4 weekend and are currently riding a two-match winning streak with wins over UConn and Alabama State.
Buffalo will then face North Florida on Sunday afternoon where it will see a familiar face on the other side of the court. The Ospreys are coached by former UB associate head coach Matt Lucas, who spent the MAC Championship season of 2016-17 with the Bulls. Last season, Lucas led UNF to an Atlantic Sun Championship.
North Florida enters its match against Mercer on Friday afternoon with a 2-3 overall record. UNF opened the year with a 4-1 win over Louisiana and they also have a 4-1 victory over UAB. Most recently, the Ospreys lost to No. 25 NC State. There will be live stats of this match, which can be found on UBBulls.com.
