Record 20 Bulls Head to Junior, Senior Nationals

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team will send 20 wrestlers to the 2021 UWW Junior Nationals and Senior Nationals, the team announced. It will be the largest UB contingent to ever compete in the annual event that takes place April 30 - May 2 in Coralville, IA.
National qualifiers Michael Petite and Derek Spann headline eight Bulls who will compete in the US Open. Twelve Bulls will compete in the UWW Junior Nationals.

Ben Freeman – 65 kg
John Arceri – 70 kg
Michael Petite – 74 kg
Jake Lanning – 79 kg
Bryson Alsteen – 79 kg
Pete Acciardi – 86 kg
Sam Mitchell – 97 kg
Juniors
Jake Eckerley – 57 kg
Tommy Maddox – 61 kg
Jimmy Ryan – 61 kg
Caleb Svingala – 61 kg
Jack Marlow – 65 kg
Ty Raines – 70 kg
Jay Nivison – 74 kg
Hunter Shaut – 74 kg
Marcus Petite – 74 kg

The winners in each division of the UWW Juniors tournament will be the 2021 U.S. representative for the 2021 Junior World Team. Those who finish in the top-five of the Senior Open qualify for the 2021 Senior World Team Trials.
