
Bulls Drop Road Contest at Ohio

ATHENS, OH – The University at Buffalo football team lost on the road at Ohio, 47-16, at Peden Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls led, 7-3, early in the second quarter, but 21 second-quarter points by the Bobcats were the difference in the game.
Messiah Burch ripped off a 27-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to give the Bulls a 7-3 lead. It was his second straight game with a rushing touchdown. After falling behind, 17-7, Upton Bellenfant connected on a 40-yard field goal to cut the Ohio lead to 17-10 late in the half. The Bobcats tacked on another touchdown with just over a minute to play in the second quarter to lead 24-10 at the break.
The Bulls got on the board late in the third quarter when C.J. Ogbonna found Victor Snow for a 21-yard touchdown. Snow finished the game with five receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown. He has now scored a touchdown in three straight games.
Ogbonna threw for 257 yards and a touchdown in the game. Along with Snow, fellow receiver J.J. Jenkins had a solid game with four catches for 57 yards, including a 33-yard reception.
Running back Al-Jay Henderson continued to produce for the Bulls. He rushed for 81 yards on 14 carries and added three catches for 24 yards. The junior back has now rushed for 320 yards over the last three games.
The defense was led by Red Murdock who finished with 14 tackles. Jalen McNair had a career-best 12 tackles in the game and Shaun Dolac finished with 10.
The Bulls are back in action next Saturday at Akron.
