
Murdock Invited to NFL Scouting Combine

BUFFALO, NY – Former University at Buffalo linebacker Red Murdock has earned an invitation to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, the league announced on Wednesday. He is one of 29 linebackers invited and the only one from the Mid-American Conference.
It marks the first time since 2021 a UB football player has been invited to the NFL Combine.
Murdock capped his stellar UB career in 2025 by earning All-America honors. He led the Mid-American Conference and ranked second in the nation in tackles with 142. He added 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and six forced fumbles. He finished his career by setting the NCAA record for career forced fumbles with 17.
A two-time All-MAC First Team selection, his 364 career tackles rank eighth in program history.
Murdock is the 10th player in UB football history to get invited to the combine. He joins Chad Upshaw (2007), Jamey Richard (2008), James Starks (2010), Khalil Mack (2014), Tyree Jackson (2019), Anthony Johnson (2019), Kayode Awosika (2021), Malcolm Koonce (2021) and Jaret Patterson (2021).
The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine will take place February 23 – March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. It will be televised on NFL Network.
