Junior (2017): Started all 12 games at kicker for the Bulls… was 15-of-24 on field goal attempts and 37-of-40 on extra points attempts on the season… his 82 points on the year ranked second on the team… was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts against Colgate (Sept. 16)… made both of his field goal attempts in a 34-31 win over Florida Atlantic (Sept. 23)… made two field goals, including a 34-yarder with 34 seconds remaining to force overtime against Western Michigan (Oct. 7)… made two field goals against Northern Illinois (Oct. 14)… made two field goals at Akron (Oct. 28)… made a field goal and five extra points against Bowling Green (Nov. 7)… made two field goals at Ball State (Nov. 16)… made a career-long 49-yard field goal and was 4-for-4 on extra points against Ohio (Nov. 24).
Sophomore (2016): Started every game at kicker for the Bulls… led Buffalo in scoring with 54 points on the season… was 11-for-18 on field goals and 21-for-23 on extra points… made a season-best three field goals (32, 37, 45) against Albany (9/2)… made his only field goal attempt, a 33-yarder, in overtime for the walk-off win against Army… named Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week following the Army win… made two field goals (34, 41) against Kent State (10/8)… made both his field goal attempts (23, 28) against Akron (10/27).
Redshirt-Freshman (2015): Started all 12 games at kicker… converted on 13-of-19 field goal attempts… made 31-of-36 extra point attempts… was a perfect 7-for-7 on field goals inside 30 yards… made his first career goal attempt – a 40-yarder against Albany (9/5)… Made field goals of 33 and 43 yards against Nevada (9/26)… had a season-best three field goals (30, 28, 27) against Bowling Green (10/3)… made two field goals (24, 35) against Ohio (10/24)… had a season-long 46-yard field goal at Miami (10/29)… was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts (22, 23) against Massachusetts.
Freshman (2014): Redshirted in his first season at Buffalo.
High School: As a senior, he finished the season going 12-for-16 on his field goal attempts with a long of 50 yards. As a punter, Mitcheson averaged 40.6 yards per punt and had a long of 69 yards. He has won a field goal accuracy competition in Florida, a field goal distance competition in Ohio and the Regional Kohl’s punting competition in Pennsylvania. Mitcheson is the only specialist ranked in the “Pennsylvania Finest” by 24/7 Sports. He also played baseball and basketball in high school.
