Bulls Host Purdue and Army on Sunday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team will host their first duals of the season when Purdue and Army come to town on Sunday. The Bulls will take on Purdue at 10 am followed by Army at 2 pm.
The Bulls are 1-1 on the year after splitting with Sacred Heart and Cal Baptist last Saturday.
Purdue is 1-0, following a season-opening win over Gardner-Webb. The Boilermakers are led by 125-pounder Matt Ramos who is ranked fourth in the country. Purdue has four other wrestlers in the national rankings. Joe Blaze (157) is ranked 20th, Stoney Buell (165) is ranked 22nd, Brody Baumann (174) and James Rowley (184) are ranked 29th.
Purdue leads the all-time series, 3-0. The Boilermakers won the last dual, 32-8, in 2016.
Army also beat Gardner-Webb in their opening dual of the season. The Black Knights have seven wrestlers in the national rankings, led by Gunner Filipowicz who is ranked 13th at 165. Also ranked are Charlie Farmer (22nd at 125), Ethan Berginc (25th at 133), Trae McDaniel (28th at 149), Braden Basile (30th at 141), Dalton Harkins (32nd at 174) and Austin Kohlhofer (33rd at 197).
This is just the fourth meeting between Buffalo and Army. It is the first time the teams have met since 1973.
